Toronto describes itself as the cultural, entertainment and financial centre of the country. With nearly three million inhabitants and a population's warmth and friendliness I have personally experienced, there is so much more than this to the city.
CN TOWER
The CN Tower is the world's tallest tower and, standing at 553.33m (1,815 feet 5 inches), is the centre of the tourist trail. With a reasonably-priced revolving restaurant giving a stunning panoramic view of the city and harbour, new meeting rooms towards the top of the tower and being a telecommunications hub, the CN Tower is a site and an opportunity not to be missed.
It has a cafe and the world's highest observation deck. The CN Tower is a major attraction based on the north shore of Lake Ontario and is a stunning gateway to the city from the harbour.
THE ROGERS CENTRE
This major sporting and entertainment complex has only been open since 1989 but has gained international reputation for sports events, concerts, family shows, trade shows and conventions. Home to the Toronto Argonauts football team and the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club, it also has one of the world's largest video screens which brings the crowd closer to the action and is also famous for its retractable roof.
SHOPPING
Toronto boasts a number of innovative shopping experiences, such as the Eaton Centre and PATH.
The Eaton Centre is a spectacular glass building which hosts the largest per square sales footage in North America and is the top tourist attraction in Toronto with one million visitors a year.
PATH is Toronto's underground network of shops, services and entertainment which covers a massive 27 kilometres. It has to be experienced to be believed.
St Lawrence Market is home to over 120 specialty merchants and vendors and has been voted one of the top 25 best markets in the world. With a variety of food and restaurants at South Street Lawrence Market, there's an additional Farmer's Market and Sunday Antique Market at the North Street site.
These are complemented by Toronto's most exclusive retail district located in the Bloor/Yorkville area. High fashion designs, eclectic boutiques, fine crystal and china shops and art galleries sit alongside top restaurants and all are set in the village-like atmosphere of Yorkville and Hazelton Lanes.
HARBOUR
Along with the traditional harbour sights and cruises, the Harbourfront Centre is a non-profitable charitable organization which organises and presents events to educate and entertain the
