Never pay full price for anything! That's the only way to keep your kids wearing the clothing they like and money in your pocket. We all have clothing budgets, but when it come to our kids, the budget mentality can go out the window when they are standing in the store begging for those $100 shoes, tears streaming down their little faces. Okay, so maybe it isn't quite that dramatic, but shopping for kids clothing and staying an on budget can be tricky if you don't follow these little rules.
1. Never shop at the front of the store. Remember, clothing goes on sale BEFORE the actual season begins, and at the end of the season. You can get bargains on summer clothing, for example, just as spring is in full swing. Then, at the end of summer, all of those great pieces will go onto the sale racks that are found at the back of the store. Sure, they want you to walk through to see all of the new items, but you can still find great items at the end of the season. If you buy them a size larger, they're bound to fit next year.
2. Vintage clothes! Your local thrift shops can have some great finds. You should
Check back often because they usually get new shipments in all the time. Teach your kids the value of clothes by encouraging them to find unique items that they can add to their wardrobes at really low prices. Once they see how much they can buy with very little money, they'll be hooked.
3. Ebay has lots of deals. You can always find clothing at great prices on Ebay.
Much of the clothing is new or just gently used, and usually they'll discount on shipping, so if you find someone who is selling items you like, you'll usually be able to pack them all together and save on your overall costs.
4. Yard sales are great placed for finding good clothing, especially for the younger
set. Parents will often put out children's clothing because they kids don't wear out the clothing, but usually grow out of it. And remember where you got a great deal because next summer, you're likely to find them selling again, and if your child fit the clothing last year, chances are, there will be sizes for them again this year!
5. Find a friend who has a child a little older than yours, and ask about hand-me-
downs. Usually, they'll want to get rid of the items and you can make a good deal, or swap if you have a child that could provide clothing for one of your friend's children.
Always be on the lookout for a great deal. Buy a couple of items like t-shirts, if they are on sale. Just get them in different colors and you're off to the races! Budget friendly clothing is out there. You just have to search for it.
