Poetry: Responsibility

Responsibility

The weight of life seems so unfair
To one who thinks true joy is rare
If only chasing here and there
Illusive dreams become despair

Response and ability when combined
Create a life that's much more kind
Sweet dreams pursued with passion blind
To all that hinders humankind

It's in the journey true joy is found
Not simply reaching target ground
The dreams we seek will come around
When our minds in present time abound

Responsibility is tough
For those who see the half empty cup
To those whose hills are always up
The journey will indeed be rough

Every moment there's a chance
To joyfully embrace the dance
And see responsibility at first glance
As a tool to your life enhance
