Maybe its because I'm not very flashy,
No sparkling diamond, and no bling -
You identified that as weakness,
Thinking I'd never amount to anything.
Was seen as the bottom of the barrel,
Something you were far superior to touch,
But appearances can be deceiving,
I can surely tell you that much.
For what you saw as not good enough -
An entity on which you'd so very politely pass -
Thinking I was the bottom of the barrel,
When I was actually saving the best for last.
