A quiet voice,
So still and small;
Sometimes I cannot
Hear at all.
Within my mind,
I block you out.
Suddenly,
I hear a shout.
Don't go that way.
There's danger there.
But I still go
Without a care.
In the end
I suffer so.
Why don't I listen?
Why do I show?
Such disregard
When wisdom speaks,
I hear your voice
But then I leap.
Into a pit,
So deep and dark;
No light there;
Not a spark;
When will this battle
Of the will
End for me?
I fight and still,
It's of no use.
By destiny,
It's like a noose
Bound to me.
