While my stances on freedom of speech, and freedom of religion are a little on the iffy side, that is not the point of this argument. Cellular Phones were originally called "Car-phones", but since they've been banned from cars in a few provinces and states, you can't really call them that now. The nice thing about the old-fashioned "Car-phone" was that it couldn't be taken OUTSIDE THE CAR.

Restaurants are not Public phone booths, and Public phone booths are not restaurants. For one, Rastaurants have restrooms, kitchens, and cooks, while public phones booths simply have a pay-phone. And while the pay-phone is quickly becomming out-dated (A friend of mine that works at a major telecom company frequently jokes that soon "Phone booths" will simply have a power-socket so you can recharge your' battery on your' cell phone) there is a new, and very frustrating trend.

Restaurants are becomming phone booths. People think they have the right to assault, and offend other patrons of restaurants, gas stations, and movie theaters, with thier' cell phone conversations. I admire the people I've seen, who walk into a restaurant, and before actually walking INTO it, say "I have to go. I'm at a restaurant. Text me."

It's got to be the most endearing part of an honorable cell phone user. I've only seen this twice, however. Both times, it was my friend who did it. Another trend that's showing up, especially in elderly people, but I am also aflicted with it, is a term many of you will not recognize, or understand. Electro-Magnetic hyper-sensitivity.

It's the main reason I don't even HAVE a cell phone, nevermind enjoy a restaurant where some idiot is talking at decibels normally reserved for movie-theater announcer guys, or that lady on the sky-train. "Electro-Magnetic" refers to Electro-magnetic fields, wavelengths, and radiation, that pretty much anything except a light bulb or toaster coil emits.

From Radios, to televisions, to the laptop I'm typing on, to your' annoying cell phone, it all fits in there. "Hyper-Sensitivity" refers to bieng overly prone to effect by the accompanying phrase. What you get, when you add them together is a person who is either audibly annoyed by, or physically impaired by the presence of strong Electro-magnetic fields, wavelengths, or radiation.

It runs in my family. My eldest sister can't tolerate cell-phones, or most electronic devices, bieng within 3 feet of her. She gets ill to her stomach, and it drains her of her energy. I have a slightly less damaging,
