ANCESTORS
When I was young and carefree,
I didn't always no the way.
Counted on those who came before,
to help me when I'd stray.
Wandering down the back roads,
it was easy to get off track.
I would call out to the heavens,
to lead me safely back.
I'd look to the horizon,
for a familiar face or site.
The sun would guide me thru the day,
the stars helped me escape the night.
The sun gave good directions,
as it traveled from east to west.
The stars were like familiar friends,
giving me strength to pass each test.
Leading me back onto a path,
that better suited to me.
Even when my mind was closed,
and my eyes too blind to see.
Every time that I was lost,
they would whisper in my ear.
Filling me up with confidence.
to know they were so near.
Took me many years to learn,
that the stars and moon above.
Were all the souls who came before,
giving me directions full of love.

From our childhood we select
The choices our parents direct
