Once upon a time in Heaven hundreds of children gathered into one large room. They were all excited, each chattering on to a friend about what was about to happen and why they were here. It was a room full of laughter and eagerness. One child in particular was silent, but just as excited as everyone else. She eyed the large doors that she knew God would come out of, and felt like opening them herself to make God's journey to the room faster.
Soon enough, God entered the room with all his splendor, and all children gathered around him. They waited for his words, patiently yet eagerly. Finally, God opened his mouth to speak.
"Children," He started, gently ruffling a boy's hair with his enormous hand. "The time has come that you must all be sent to earth to your earthly parents." All the children cheered. They had waited long for this time, and it had finally arrived. The child clapped her hands with a gleeful grin and gave a delighted laugh. She certainly couldn't wait.
"As you know, when each child departs from Heaven he is rewarded with a gift." The child nodded, and looked up into his face. He seemed to be speaking only to her, but she was sure all felt the same way. All the children's chattering had mellowed down to whispers, but they all still talked rapidly and now were wondering as to what their gift would be. God stood up and walked out of the room for a second, and came back with a plain woolen sack. The children gathered around him once again, and tried to peer into the sack to see what it contained. The child stood to the back, not because she wanted to, but because she couldn't possibly squeeze herself any closer with all those children already surrounding him.
God reached into the sack and pulled out a box, a flashy yellow with a thick red ribbon wrapped around. One stocky girl reached forth eagerly and he handed it to her. The eager girl ripped the ribbon apart, and opened the box hastily.
"Knowledge." She shouted with a triumphant grin. She waved her gift around and around and then exited the room.
God reached into that bulging sack again and brought out another box, a electric blue bow wrapped in shiny plastic wrapping. A boy grabbed it out of God's hands before God could hand it to anyone else, and opened the box.
"Strength!" He cried joyfully, and gave God a quick hug. God laughed, and reached into his sack again.
One by one, child after child went on to receive his or her gift, and one by one they all cried the name of their gift and left the room
