Brown and Beautiful
I am brown and beautiful, yes that's me
I ain't no inferior
No sir, that's not me
You tell me I'm less and I can't spell a lick
You tell me I speak like a gutter snick
Well I'm gonna show you somethin'
Jus you see
Cause' I am brown and beautiful, yes that's me.
I can cross my t's and dot my i's just like the finer folks in life
I can cut the crust of my sandwich bread and quite finely ask for a serviette
I can enunciate my words and be provocative with my verbs
I am brown and beautiful, yes that's me
I ain't no inferior
No sir, that's not me
I could be a sycophant if I chose
But I'd rather remain true and not pretend to pose
So you continue with your propaganda against my race
But in the end, only you will really lose face
I am brown and beautiful, yes that's me
And truly I am your worst enemy

We live the same life
And have for generations.
We are an echo.
