forever is such a long, long time
yet it seems so slow in coming
to those who desire it the most
those sharing love there for the taking
a child at play with another
knows not of future and past
knows only of the here and the now
hoping the day will last
until one day more shall follow
the lovers in eternal embrace
the children aglow play on
at such a leisurely pace
time shall pass and with it the dreams
of lovers and of children too
but surely as the seasons change
shall all the dreams come true
for in the Spring do colors abound
and in the Fall it is moreso
but when Winter arrives and with it the cold
love does not die it does but grow
ever it seems in a repeating cycle
the lovers and the children go on
taking and sharing giving and holding
always and forever the mother and her son
one fine day will find them
in the greatest of their trials
each still with the other possessing
for always the broadest of smiles
