Melissa you are wonderful,
and though we were less than fifty steps away,
sitting in our cubicles,
reading our texts,
erasing our boards
to refresh the lessons of a new day,
and the workload seemed to burden us
to such a level that we were blinded by it,
I know it was no excuse,
none at all
to not recognize your beauty earlier.
In my mind you flash by,
always a pleasant look on your face,
always walking passed in the corridor
always knowing that you will make someone's day,
but the workload seemed to burden me
to such a level that I was blinded by it,
I know it is no excuse,
none at all
to not recognize your beauty earlier.
Now that I know,
through eulogy,
I think we could have been good friends,
don't get me wrong,
just friends nothing else,
sharing thoughts on a favourite book,
talking about our kids...
maybe even setting a date on the weekend
when they could play together when
my wife and I
you and your husband
could have sipped coffee closely by,
Now that I know you were...
...are...wonderful,
what does it get me but a saddened heart
and as the workload diminishes,
to such a level that I now can see,
I am left with no excuse
none at all
for not recognizing your beauty earlier.

You are the light that leads me to shore, when ever there's doubt your face I adore.

I feel wonderful,

Each day,
I am welcomed

You share with me life's simple joys
Your smile, your laughter better still
The way you are with our beamish boys,
indulging
I stand in awe, by the waterfall,
cascading down like endless rain.
It fills the thirsty waiting pool,
and heals my aching
