Wow living inside of a book. I never really thought of it before now, and now that it's been mentioned there are a few books that I could think of that I wouldn't mind living withing because of the story lines that follow it and the action that is involved. Most of the books I would love to live in are written by the same author.
The book I would love to live in is called This Present Darkness or Piercing The Darkness by Frank Peretti. It is a bout the battle waged everyday between angels and demons. IT shows the power angels get from our simple little prayers, and the power demons can have once they get their claws into our minds. Both books are very powerful and all hold what I believe to heart. It follows a big story line of good defeating evil despite the tricks evil may play and the power prayer holds for angels (they get their power from our prayers).
I would love to live in the little town of Aston and interact with the Pastor Ben, and the report Marshall (they are the main characters). I imagine I would be attending the little white church on the hill, in reality i attend a little brick church on a hill. As I read the novels I saw many characters that I could imagine myself being friends with and attending the prayer meetings they hold each week. There was a lot of spiritual awareness and stuff going on in both novels that made me not want to put them down and I could see myself as one of the people who canjust tell when there is a battle raging above us.
I would imagine myself among "the saints" praying for the town and various people. Feeling the presents of angels all around and I would hope that I would be blessed to have the opportunity to see one or have them assist me in any way.
Frank Peretti has wonderful novels that appeal to a lot of people. They aren't overly preachy or anything like that. There are a lot of things that go into his novels and I would love to be a part of them. I would love being one of the saints praying for the well being of the town and the church, I already do that, but still it's fun to think of being one of the characters in my favorite novels.
