There are many applications which load up in the startup of Windows, however there are times when we realize that we don't need all those applications loading up in the startup because not only do they make the windows boot up slow but also waste valuable amount of RAM.
There are 3 options you can do to stop an application from running on startup I find the first to be the best for me mainly because I was an XP user an this is how I did it in Xp but you may find these other options to be better for you.
Option #1
In Windows Vista the best way to stop an application from running on startup is to
first click on the start menu, in the search box type in "msconfig",click enter, after clicking enter a box will pop up called "System Configuration", click on "startup" tab at top of box ,In here you will find a list of applications that run on startup, uncheck the applications that you don't want to run on startup. Click apply and choose to restart computer now or later.
You can choose to uncheck all by clicking on the disable all button at the bottom of page, this will stop all applications from running on startup by choosing this option it will not hurt your computer in anyway the applications that have to run on startup will automatically reset themselves to run the only thing that it will affect is the applications that you do want to run on startup you will have to reset yourself after restarting your computer.
Option #2
First click on start menu, click on Control Panel, and then type "startup" into the search box at the top of page. The link for "Stop a program from running at startup" shows up immediately under Windows Defender. Now you can see the Windows Defender screen that lets you manage the startup applications. You'll see the list of applications which load in the startup.
From this screen you can manage that which applications you want to allow and the ones which you want to disable or remove. Once you disable or remove the application, it won't load up in the startup.
Click refresh and close page on your next restart the changes you made will be effect.
Option #3
First click on start menu, then all programs, scroll down to "Windows Defender" click,When the Windows Defender page opens you will most likely have to click on the "Tools" tab at the top of the page, Open "Software Explorer" here you will see the Windows Defender screen that lets you manage the startup applications. You'll see the list of applications which load in the startup.
From this screen you can manage that which applications you want to allow and the ones which you want to disable or remove. Once you disable or remove the application, it won't load up in the startup.
Click refresh and close page on your next restart the changes you made will be effect.
No matter which option you choose to use none of the changes that your make will take affect until you restart your computer.
