Poetry: I hear you

by Princess Cordelia

Created on: April 25, 2008

ten years have passed since I first started visiting you
people laugh when I say I'm off to visit you
they never see you, all they see is a pine tree and fallen pine cones
to me this is the place where our love blossomed
the place where I still go
where I still hear you

in a flash of lights you left me: an accident they said
from the burial grounds I ran, I kept running
my legs carried me to the wilderness - where our love story began

out in the wilderness
I hear no human voices
Nature's heartbeat throbbing all around me

the winds howling
stirring the leaves beneath the pine tree
my seat amidst the fallen pine cones

amidst these very fallen pine cones
the pine tree's shadow embraced us
nourishing our love all these years

here again now, I feel your presence
your past words of love caress me
my sorrows washed away by the tide of your presence

here awash with your love, I hear you
your words give me strength and courage
I hear you and I feel our love: still as strong as ever.
