In my notebook I keep inside
Safe and secure with heart strings tied
Deep within my soul
I write the secret memories I have
Notes along the way
Thoughts that are safely
Hidden and away

In my notebook I keep inside
Are the secrets of my life
The things that my heart feels
That I will need later in my years

Some things they are hurtful
And make me cry at night
It's important that I remember them
To help me see the light

Most everything I have written down
To keep along my way
Are special and happy memories
That help guide me during the day

The things my parents told me
To do because it was right
The teachers that helped me along the way
To learn to read and write
The friends that were there
A day in time
And the ones that were truly mine
The love I met
The one for me
The frogs along the way
To find that one that was meant for me
The one that helped me be
To be the woman that I am today

I sit and read the notebook
On days when it's rainy out
The memories are the songs in my heart
The things I am all about

My notebook will never fill
Page after page there is
Available for me to log away
Memories along the way
