Are we spoiled or what? You guessed it better than me, by far we are. Doesn't it feel funny when we don't get what we want, right here, right now! It's actually just an expression of when you see something that you want it straight away. What is wrong with us, you may ask. Why all the impulsiveness, what are we becoming? This is not funny either. Did you know that the children are learning from us as well? Uh-oh! You know what that means, yes, they copy and learn every word, motion and detail. Next time they know how to get their way. Remember when we were young and if we yelled and screamed for what we wanted, we got a good spanking and early bed-time. That chocolate we craved for and the sweets? We couldn't have it, could we. It was a NO, you're not having it and that is it! That's what our parents used to say. Now days we see something we like and that is it, we have to have it. That's how we have spoiled ourselves and are making it even worser for the next generation. We need to slow down and not let our children see that example, for it is not a good one and will eventually turn them into a 'Spoiled Evil.' Imagine their kids then, what will they be like? I hate to think.
We are only allowed to smack the child on the bottom, then it's, you are not allowed to touch him/her in any
way. What kind of program do we have to put the child on so he/she is disciplined? You guessed, talking to the child and giving them appropriate punishment other than physical. That's fine, because I agree but others don't. That's one matter taken care of, with caution of course. The other problem faced with being spoiled is spending big and that means, us as parents, are not tight enough with our spending. Credit cards, mobile phones, then more credit cards, then update the old mobile phone to a newer one. Designer labels, you like what she's wearing. Those celebrities are wearing expensive stuff, like clothes, make-up, shoes, etc.,.
So we want a piece of the action to see what it feels like to have that and be just like them. Only problem is, we have to spend. How's it going credit card? It's time to go shopping! You see in the shop what you saw in the magazine on those celebrities and you just got to have it, you can't contain yourself any longer.
Money gets even tighter when the credit card bill arrives, then money problems start. When the child begins
to get accustomed to this extravagant expenditure, he/she will begin to ask for exactly the same thing, then
things start to get really expensive. They will even con their way to getting it, with, 'Come on mum, how
come you are the only mum, that doesn't spend on their kids, it's always just you, you, and dad, huh?' That's when you feel, this big? No actually, this small. How do you explain the money situation then? Miss know-it-all?
