The Pain of the Books
A new world each day, something that's as real as a dream,
Makes you think, which one from the past was supreme.
Was it the one with historical characters and wars
Or that one, where there were no closed doors?
Do you remember the world you lived in as a child
Or the one where you did nothing but smiled?
The amazing collection of worlds chained in black and white
Hidden in the words in so many books from light.
Each one with some thoughts and ideas in them,
That you can either adopt or condemn.
Is there something nobler in the world you live in now,
That before might not have been permitted or allowed?
Can you see the pain of the books, the misery of worlds forlorn?
Can you be the one, who cares for the kingdoms and countries unborn?
And be the one , who sees, that Now will never repeat.
There only can be feelings and thoughts in the past so sweet.
A new world suitable for your unique story,
A life full of meaning and crowned by glory.

Leaning on their sides
Standing straight up
Stiff spines
Piled so high
I fear an avalanche
At any time.

So many old friends
Staring from the shelves.
Waiting like soldiers
Before a battle,
Gathering dust.
They sing to me
Sad songs,
