You know that thing you should have done
but picked other things instead?
That thing entrusted just to you
that now won't leave your head?
A certain person counting on you
to have rightly done what's due
Will soon find out you did not
that thing you promised to
That guilty buzz inside your mind
that will not let you sleep?
The thoughts of it that hang around
and into all thoughts creep?
The knowledge that quite soon you will
be found to be remiss?
And soon be hoping painfully that
you will find forgiveness?
That is the voice of reason
the one that helps you see
that always guilt will come to those
who lack responsibility
