Tiny tapping inside my soul
Reaching high, stretching tall
"I have no idea!" I shout and scream.
"What shall I do?" and "Why me it seems?"
I know the answer and yet I stall.
My stomach churns and breath comes quick
Suddenly I turn the corner; I feel sick
I know I should not, but then I run
Down the same dark alley what have I done?
"Why can't I chose well, why can't I pick?"
The right thing looms a tiny gold speck
But the wrong thing's fun, so what the heck
I promise I won't, this is the last
I'll pray tonight, I'll leave the past
But if I change now I'll stick out my neck...
I feel a tug in my heart pull tight
A large salty tear finds it's freedom this night
"I hear you." I murmur, relief in my breath
"I hear you this time, I'll do my best."
The tapping inside has now given flight
Making room for truth, making room for light
I hear you small voice, I hear you tonight.
The peace has replaced the pain for the moment
The ever small voice who's mission is spent
I hear you my angel, I hear you tonight.

A quiet voice,
So still and small;
Sometimes I cannot
Hear at all.
Within my mind,
I block you out.
Suddenly,
I hear a shout.
Don't
Your breath
elbows me in the rib.
I hear you.
You want me to quit
smoking, drinking, overeating.
You want me to be good and
Beep
I hear you coffee pot.
I'm ready for a cup.
Beep
I hear you microwave.
My oatmeal's hot.
Beep
I hear you washing machine.
The
I HEAR YOUR VOICES
It started as a child,
I would wander wondering
between the stones.
Reading names of those who
walked this
