OLD PHILLY TOWNE
Down in old Philly Town, just as the lights go down
I feel the air come alive.
It's such a crazy scene, down in the clubs I mean
Dance with voluptuous blonds.
You really don't need a reason,
To throw your cares to the wind, oh no.
Just reach for the ultimate pleasures
And into the night you will spin
Down on the Delaware, I watch the tugboats there
Chasing the lights on the waves
Musicians show their wares, staged on some empty stairs
Voices mix with the cries of the wind.
You really don't need a reason,
To throw your cares to the wind, oh, no.
Just reach for the ultimate pleasures.
And into the night you will spin.
Pleasing smells fill my nose, and the excitement grows
Every corner I turn
Street vendors cut the price, make the deal really nice
Buy the young lady a rose.
You really don't need a reason,
To throw your cares to the wind, oh, no.
Just reach for song in your heart
And into the night you will spin.
Down by the stadiums, the fans create a hum.
Tailgating before the games.
Steaks are a sizzling nice, cold beer awaits on ice,
playing catch before the game.
You really don't need a reason,
To throw your cares to the wind, oh, no.
Just reach for the ultimate pleasures.
And into the night you will spin.
Down in old Philly Town, just as the lights go down
I feel the air come alive.

The dusty road where I used to call home is calm this time of day
this is where we used to go to get away and it still seems
Youghiogheny Blues
Heading down Dravosburg Hill
The fog lifts in the valley once made of steel
Been thirty years now and it's
From this angle out the window
The world seems so small
Just traffic lights and rooftops
And the gray skies of mid-fall
