Poetry: Writer's block

by WryterB

Created on: April 25, 2008

I picked up a pen to write down this thought
And suddenly I just forgot...
What's happening to me am I getting old
What I had to say really needed to be told
Let me think, maybe it will come back
But I have no time for that!
What do I do, so that I can remember?
January, March, September, November...
It wasn't about a month, gee why can't I think
Why can't my thought, come out from this ink?
My mind seems tightened just like a lock
Why am I suffering writer's block?
No time to question, these thoughts need to be heard
But this block is here, absolutely absurd!
Never should this happen to me again
Granted, I am using a faulty pen

This writer's block I can't overcome
I'll have to go get some chewing gum
Then sit down and ponder what I had on my mind
And hopefully by this time
The importance of what I had to say will be on paper
And be heard, read and published later
