Poetry: Turning forty

by Kendra Allen

Created on: April 25, 2008

TURNING FORTY

Some bemoan their passing years
With vain regrets and bitter tears
Invoking storms of pointless fears
Which threaten to enslave...

...One foot in the grave.

But I prefer to gaze ahead
To future dreams and prayers unsaid
Or else I might as well be dead
Or sealed inside a cave...

...Age is for the brave.
