Poetry: Free-for-all

by Lilly Mantra

Created on: April 24, 2008

Bang! Crash! Clatter! Clang!
Find your wife; get your gang!

Buildings tumble to the ground!
Dodging bullets all around!

Mothers fall; babies cry,
Little children just ask 'why'.

Run for your life; trip over your brother!
Don't forsake yourself for another!

The time is now; the minutes collide!
Grab your car, or find a ride!

Get out of this disastrous town,
Before its walls come crashing down!

Screech! Burn! Shatter! Break!
The world's ending for heaven's sake!

Miss! Mash! Clash! Clatter!
Its every man for himself; Nothing matters!

Break into local stores -
Take what's there when its not yours.

Push, shove, knock others down,
Its their life of yours; Let them drown.

Cover your head; Protect your young.
This place is collapsing; Our song's been sung.

Boom! Tumble! Sirens shout!
Get out of town! Move, Look out!

Fight to remember all that you saw
Try to forget this free-for-all.

Crumble! Rumble! Bricks go down,
The great shattering of this place we found.

Shuffling movement; Families scurry!
Brothers race to beat the clock; Feet in a hurry!

Every person for himself - humanity's goodness defied.
All split ends have come untied.

No unity left, The mighty they fall -
In this insane free-for-all.
