About a month ago I was in search of the perfect Spring bag. The most I would spend on a handbag would be around $300, and the most high(er)-end shop I would go to was Coach. But for some reason I decided to venture in to Gucci. One of the specialists there was kind enough to show me each and every handbag that caught my eye. She introduced me to the Spring 2008 Hysteria collection, showing me the white hand-held on display. It felt so soft! I told her that I like the feel of the leather, but it was too small. She showed me a monogram hobo, but I was in love with the soft leather. Then, she said she had something (not on display) that I might like. When she brought it out, it was love at first sight. It was then that I purchased my first major designer handbag: a white pleated hobo with gold hardware, Gucci, Hysteria Collection, Spring 2008. Limited edition. Only 3 on the island (Oahu).
Everyone must know that once you go Gucci, you can't go back. And I can't. I'm addicted. I now "collect" limited edition designer handbags. It's a different playing field with these bags. The most exotic leather, softest, raw, whatever your desire. Not only does it come with a drawstring bag with the logo emblazoned on it to "protect" the bag when not in use, you receive a handwritten thank you card a week after your purchase. Needless to say, I believe that they are worth the money. If, and only IF, you are able to take good care of them. For your cash, check or charge will go down the drain if the precious handbag is destroyed or distressed within a month or (GASP!) a week. Conveniently enough, care instructions are provided for you, as well as a briefing on care upon purchase.
I LOVE my Gucci hobo. I have gotten a lot of use out of it. Well, I format my wardrobe to go with my bag. I believe it was a worthwhile investment. I haven't been able to look at handbags the same way. It's a different world in Designer Handbag Land. I've received many compliments on it. And even more so when they come close, ask "Where did you get your bag?" and see the logo on the hardware. "Is that Gucci! Very nice!" Yes. Very nice, indeed. Hysteria Blanc is like my baby, and I'm a proud mama whenever I carry her around.
