Sometimes simplicity can be a good thing with games, occasionally the most simple of ideas can be the most effective; there are times however when the simplicity of it all becomes so extreme that the game is not even worth playing. BloomBusters is most certainly one of those games. When I play BloomBusters I feel nothing but utter disappointment, there is absolutely nothing that grabs you about the game and not one single element of the game play that makes you wish to play on.
In terms of game play, what you must do here is a series of mundane tasks which involve the simple control of clicking the mouse. There's nothing more to it and it is this that makes the game so infuriatingly lacking. The controls are so easy to master that five minutes into playing the game you already feel like you've wasted too much time with BloomBusters. The general game play is utterly lacking, at no stage do you ever feel compelled to play on and always in fact everything about the game disappoints hugely. The game is most definitely aimed at a young audience; the problem is that the game seems to assume that people of a young age will not want to play a game that is interesting.
The use of sound here is almost as terrible as the game play. No sooner than you start playing do you feel utterly infuriated by the repetitive tones of the music here. There's only so much of the sound that you can take here, the combined efforts of the sound and the game play make BloomBusters stand strong as one of the most annoying games that I have ever had the misfortune of playing.
Overall I would say that BloomBusters is an extremely dreadful game. Creativity is here kept to a bare minimum and nothing about the game makes you really interested in playing this for too long at all. The sound is dreadful, the game play is awful, and I fail to see how this game would possibly appeal to any audience whatsoever. Anyone with an active interest in computer games will find this far too easy, and those that are not yet into computer games will not enjoy this either as there is not enough of interest here to engage the player and get them excited about playing BloomBusters. Having played the trial version of this game there is absolutely no way that I would ever buy the full game. Everything irritates me about BloomBusters, this is not a game that I feel anyone would enjoy and for that reason I wouldn't even recommend taking the time to play the free trial; any time spent playing BloomBusters would in my opinion be time wasted.
