Heredity passed the hurt to you
my eyes his smile our gift
combo of chromosomes, defective chain

Useless regret useless attempt
To grasp your soul to hold it to my heart
Grief generations had deferred
To you to us to her
Another claim inhabited you love
Your skin your gut your lungs
Betrayal in conception formed
Each cell a flaw a death
