Poetry: Happy birthday, Sister

Happy Birthday, Sis

This day comes but once a year
A day thats all your own
Pain, joy, in a mother's tear
Born, this journey you have known

Celebration's this day has seen
A day in April just for you
From birth, to now and in-between
Birthday memories to hold true

One more day of bold reflection
As you analyze your existence
No life can escape imperfection
Our salvation rests in remittance

Another year may pass into time
Allow not depression to prevail
Savor your day and you will find
Signs of your love are everywhere

To be loved by those we touch
The fulfillment of who we are
To know you are loved so much
By friends, family, near and far

Now that your special day is here
Accept it with eagerness abound
Anticipate future without fear
In accomplishments you have found

A Sister to forever treasure
You have enriched my life too
And so it is my pleasure
To say Happy Birthday to you
