Twisted and distorted
inside out
flesh exposed to light
pupils plunged in darkest blood
raw violent pain ricochets
interior skull to skull
as punctured brain cells scream
Vulnerable twitching muscle
vibrates on ivory bone
begging cover cover cover
Curl up, protect, scoop up
all vital parts before they know
the baying wolf pack stalking sensing
fresh spilt blood

Tempted and tried we often wander,
How life has given us agonizing pains,
Raging war on every unconquered shore,
Unquenched
