Runes of Avalon 2 is a game that I could see myself becoming seriously addicted to. For a long time now I have had a fond love for puzzle games and for that reason I found this game to be highly enjoyable. Sometimes it's the more basic of games that are the most enjoyable I feel, Tetris for example is one of my all time favorite games and involves the simplest task of building as many horizontal lines of blocks as possible. Runes of Avalon 2 is a similarly strategic game, one where you have to always be thinking several moves ahead in order to become master of the game and successfully complete each and every level.
In terms of game play, what needs to be done here is that three (or more) runes of corresponding color must be lined up horizontally or vertically with an ultimate aim of clearing the grid and completing the level. It's simple and yet the game is extremely effective, its terrific fun and the anticipation of what your next move may be is the greatest satisfaction in playing this game. There are several differently laid out boards to play on, this therefore mixes things up a little and makes the game all the more enjoyable to play.
The in-game sound here is reasonable; it's by no means the greatest feature of Runes of Avalon 2 however. The speech elements of the game are interesting to listen to; the sound effects used here do become a little irritating after a while however. This isn't a huge problem; the sound is bearable given the greatly addictive quality of the game and can really be overlooked. Turn the sound down and this takes away nothing from the overall excellence of the game, so if it annoys you then simply turn the sound down or off and your problems should be solved.
Runes of Avalon 2 is not the most innovative game to have graced the earth, it's a pretty standard puzzle game and yet it works magnificently well. Every element of the game comes together perfectly here in order to provide for a hugely enjoyable gaming experience. It would be all too easy to get addicted to this game I feel, it's one of those games where you can play for hours on end and never tire of it. Always this game has plenty to offer and never does the quality of it all disappoint. Having played the trial version of the game I will now most definitely be investing in the full version; I can see myself spending many hours playing Runes of Avalon 2 and I personally would see any time spent playing this as time well utilized.
