Like many other ordinary woman, I am not an enthusiast of soccer game. However, Master Kick is a game that is more interesting than what I expected. I have played the game for about half an hour and I give a rate of 3/5.
Actually, the first sight of the game did not give me a good impression. I do think the screen size is too small! It looks as if it is customized for playing secretly in office hour without the boss' notice. The graphics are plain too. A regular soccer table with some simple figures! What an ordinary 2d mini game which already existed years before! Although I know teams can be changed, it makes not much difference. The graphics are not special at all. It does not look attractive, especially for a woman.
However, when you start playing the game longer, you encounter its excitement. Despite the game easily got paused once the cursor was out of the screen, the game was easily controlled by mouse. When I got used to it, the match went smoother and smoother, actions became faster and faster, and the background sound of hoorays enhanced the excitement. Everything became lively! What I like most about the game is that I could change the formation of my team. This is a brilliant idea to arouse interest and addictiveness. Traditionally soccer table game is more unrealistic and dull. Adding the function of changing team formation makes the game more attractive. It makes a difference for every game. Users will try using different team formation strategies for winning.
Another innovative idea is the replay function. Users can enjoy the goals they make. As the game I played is a trial version, many other options are not able to function until the game is bought. But I suppose these options bring more surprise! I know there are different teams, playfields and even weather effect to make the game facinating.
Although I do not know much about soccer, still I think playing soccer table game creates different feeling when comparing to soccer game. For examples, shooting angles, movements etc. I think Master Kick is already better than many soccer table games in the market. However, many other soccer games are indirect competitors. If the creator wants more people to buy the game, there is still gaps for innovation. The game should be designed to be more realistic.
