Cure a Headache.
Working with headaches is a challenge.
There are different types of headaches. The first step is knowledge. Persistant headaches should be diagnosed by a doctor, so you know for sure whether it is just a headache or something else. When you go to see your doctor, you should bring the following information:
1. Does the headache occur or reoccur at particular times of the day? You need to keep a journal of when the headache occurs and the intensity of the pain experienced by the headache.
2. Describe the intensity of the pain. Most doctor's use a scale of 1 to 10, with one being barely there and 10 being extremely intense.
3. Describe the location of the pain. Is the pain located in the front of the head, somewhere on the top, or at the base of the head. Record this in your journal.
If the doctor indicates that there is not a particular physical cause, the following techniques can reduce or eliminate the headache.
1. Relax, and massage the area of the head where the pain occurs.
2. Drink hot tea.
3. Lay down with your feet propped up for a few minutes.
4. Listen to peaceful music.
5. Take an asperin or over the counter pain reliever.
6. Place heating pad or hot towels on the head, lie down and relax.
7. Combine any of the above in different ways.
8. Go shopping, or do something you enjoy, forget about the pain as much as possible.
9. Very pleasurable sex can reduce or eliminate pain.
10. Get a massage.
11. Read a book you enjoy, read poetry, or other enjoyable literature.
12. Do yoga or relaxation exercises that involve slowly rotating the neck and head.
