Poetry: Turning forty

by Erin Cook

Created on: April 24, 2008

My hair is turning gray
My children moved out
I bend over which makes my back ache
No question No doubt
I am turning forty

I am over the hill
I watch younger moms chasing after their kids
I am taking over a dozen pills
to help me stay fit

I am turning forty
I can feel it my body
gray hair and body aches
is letting me know
that soon I will be forty
