The Girl Who Fell From The Stars!
It was a Saturday night in the summer of 1977. I found myself at the side of a pond, lying on a picnic table. It was late and a dark moonless night, and I was staring up at the stars. I had a couple of beers left in a 6-pack that was sitting under the spring fed waterfall.
Wait a minute. I will insert here the exact words I typed when I wrote about this for the first time.
I don't exactly know what it was about that night that made it feel so different. There was something in the air. It felt good. I was sitting by the edge of a pond. Everything was quiet except the little waterfall in the corner. That waterfall was ice cold so it was a great place to keep beer. Which was exactly what I was doing. The water in the pond was very calm. All the stars were shining that night. The reflection off the water was fantastic. It looked like the sky continued on endlessly into the ground. I was sitting on a picnic table that was right on the edge of the pond. The whole night was going good. All of my friends were off with their girlfriends or off chasing any available partner for the night. I must admit I really wasn't thinking about finding a girl. I had a six-pack. I "thought" that was good enough. I remember that night was completely cloudless. For the first time in my life I really noticed how romantic the stars really were. I had gotten a beer and was walking back to the table when I looked up and saw the brightest falling star that I have ever seen. It was beautiful. It was falling so long I thought it was going to hit the ground. As my eyes were following the star, I looked over to the other side of the pond. There was a girl standing there. She must have walked up while I had my eyes on the star. Even though it looked like she just appeared. She started walking over to me. I could see that she was very good looking. When she was getting closer I could see that she was more than good looking. She was beautiful, like the star. She had long blond hair. It was fairly dark. But when she got real close, the moonlight was reflecting off her hair. She just looked at me and smiled. I was still a little shocked and completely spellbound. I didn't know what to say. When I opened my mouth the first thing that came out was, "Hi! Want a beer?" She didn't say anything, she just nodded her head. I walked over and grabbed a beer, and when I came back she was looking at me with these real sexy eyes. We were both sitting on the table just looking at
