Possible health risks of tattoos

Many years ago (the 70's)and in prison it may have been likely to contract a virus or bacterium from a tattoo needle but the facts are in. Almost no respectable modern tattoo parlors do not use sterilized needles as a common practice. If contracting hepatitis is one of your main fears about getting a tattoo you should probably be wearing a gasmask too. Unless your going to prison any time soon you shouldnt jump to conclusions based on old news! The things to be sure of next time you visit a tattoo parlor are as follows:

1. Is it a clean environment?: Meaning if there are boogers on the walls you might want to look down the street. Even though hepatitis is in the downfall you still could get an infection.

2. Is the artist tattooing you a half way clean looking guy/girl? because if he's soaking in his own vomit then you might want to reconsider.

3. Do you know anyone else who had a tattoo from this parlor? if your freind asked for mickey mouse and got an oragatan playing jump rope it might not be such a great idea to get a mickey mouse.

And lastly make sure to keep it clean the last thing you want is scar tissue.
