You live your whole life
Snorting through muck
Although it isn't your choice
Nor dependent on luck
From a tiny wiggly creature
Born from an insignificant egg
If you were born a human,
On a street corner you'd beg
However, it isn't the land that
You call your domain
But the deep murky waters
Where you always remain
Your whole life is spent
Searching for a free meal
And you're not too proud
To beg, borrow or steal
You don't even care
What your acquaintances think
And you'd steal them blind
In as quick as a wink
In the ladder of society
You're on the bottom rung
Because when neighbors aren't watching
You'll steal their young
You can't help being a scrounger
And experts say it isn't your fault
However, advice from your neighbors
Say; lock everything in a vault
Not being fussy eater
You'll feed on whatever you can
But being eaten yourself isn't
Part of the plan
However, it happens sometimes
When you are caught
People will eat you
Whether you like it or not
The lowly bottom feeding catfish
Eats all the trash that it can
So why do humans find you delicious
Fried in oil in a pan?
