Ideas for nutritious snacks

When it comes to nutrition, people tend to forget that snacks should also be healthy for you. You don't want something that chalk full of fats, sugars, and sodium. It's best to find something that consists of nutrience needed for a healthy body.

One of the most important things a person can have is proteins. Proteins not only streghten your muscles, but they also are used as transporters of oxygen in your blood stream, they help your liver function, and they can even help with hormone responses.

Since today's modern working man and woman don't have enough time to get a balanced diet throughout the day, it is essential that when you're snacking you're snacking on beneficial foods. Proteins can be found in many sources from fish to nuts. I don't recommend you going to eat fish sticks, but perhaps you can find a snack that consists of nuts. One snack that does is nuts, and Nuts can be found in trail mix, and even as a component of a delicious yogurt snack.

Yogurts are a healthy dairy snack. Your dairies contain levels of protein as well. Yogurts are also contain calcium which is essential for strong bones and repairing damage to your bones obtained during injuries. Dairy doesn't just strengthen your teeth over your lifetime and your bones. It also helps your muscles and nerves function properly. Plus dairy helps prevent blood clots. It is essential to maintain your daily amount of dairy.

You shouldn't go assuming that milkshakes from restaraunts or flavored milks will do the trick. That is why you should look at the nutritional facts. If you don't feel like doing that, then hook up your blender before you head out and make a quick homemade milkshake consisting of blueberries and other berries which provide antioxidants.

I recommend a combination of trail mix as a snack you can chew and then a homemade milk shake to wash it all down with. You will get the benefits of strong bones. You get the benefits of maintaining healthier, stronger teeth over your lifetime. You will also get the benefits of muscle maintainence and building. Plus, who doesn't love have a stable nervous system and the benefits of a healthy liver to which you can get toxins out of your system. And a little extra help from antioxidant foods never hurts either. This way you get the full benefits of both dairy based food sources and proteins based to help your body stay healthy and fit.
