Poetry: Responsibility

Justice!

It's what we all hope for
In this mixed up world.
It's what we all dream about
While we're safely in our beds

Justice!

The action sought against criminals,
And civil violators
It's meant to protect the people
From the people
And it's government.

But what do we do?

When those meant to protect us
Begin to oppress us.

What do we do?

When those same people
Begin to violate our rights,
Disregard the proper procedures,
And threaten the legitimacy,
Of the "Judicial System"

We take action
We strike back
Not with violence
But with words
And the stroke of a pen,
A computer
Or image.

We make light
Of their indiscretions
And we use the very same
System they are a part of
To hold them accountable
And if this does not work
We take it to a higher power
A higher court
And seek
Justice!

For Justice,
We will obtain!
