Perspectives on 9/11: The politics of culture, the culture of politics

Created on: April 24, 2008

The day that marked the end of security in America and around the world was September 11, 2001. It undermined the security of all nations who stood in wonderment that the great nation, the United States of America, of such power and wealth could be affected so strongly by two commercial airliners, airliners which generally fly over every major city in the world. One of the most powerful centers of commerce and affluence, the World Trade Center was totally inoperable within one hour of 8:46 am, the time the first jetliner hit the north tower. The second jetliner hit the south tower at 9:03 am. This affected business and trade around the world including the airline industry which was commanded to land all aircraft in the United States.

The World Trade Center complex of seven building represented the culture and politics of the United States and is called "western culture." It truly represented the politics of culture and the culture of politics because trade and commerce are the primary way that the United States deals with other nations. The goal of life to them not employment; but retirement, living off the land with milk and egg producing animals and trees and vegetation that provide food.

In the western quest for promoting businesses to employ people in the United States, the integrity and value of the products of the businesses became a danger and disadvantage to the American people. The culture became degraded with magazines and other media promoting products that featured dangerous practices of sex before marriage and sex with multiple partners as well as cheating on spouses and friends. In these various media presentations the women in western culture follow fashion and sex appeal as opposed to modesty and chastity in other cultures, including the Muslim
