Poetry: Tarot cards

by Kate Miller

Created on: April 24, 2008

I am the face of what is to come
You don't want to know; yet you succumb
For in my eyes you must face death
the possibility of your last breath
the Ace of spades falls, and you gasp
"It's only a card," you manage to rasp
You asked; I answer in riddles
And for that I am belittled
Even by you, as you face what is to come
And to the Ace of Spades you must succumb
