Salvation
I saw you falling
But was too slow to catch you
I saw you crying
But had no words to comfort you
I saw you hurting
But knew no way to heal you
I know you deserve more
Than what I can give
But you accept the best I have
Like no one else ever would
You tell me it's enough
That I am here and I try
Still I feel
As though I let you down
All I want
Is to be perfect for you
All my dreams
Are of our life together
You don't see
How you make me complete
Because...
When I fall
You are always there to catch me
When I cry
You always have the words to comfort me
When I am hurt
You always know how to heal me
It's this that you give to me
And my only desire
Is to give you the same
I know I fall short
Time and again
I know it doesn't
Matter to you that I have
My love is accepted
It's always good enough
You keep it in your heart
And never let it go
This is what makes me
Become a better man
Your faith in me
Gives me hope I've never had

Sitting there
beside you on the warm June pavement
I learned something about you
watching lightning weave stories in trails
between
The wispy waves of o'er,
In time gone back to first
Through trials, famine, loss,
The steadfast ones stand firm

IF WE COULD DO IT OVER
If we could do it over
start again anew
would your ring be on my finger
Would I still be loving you
