Turning 40
I'll soon be 40 and as I reflect on what my life has seen,
I have accomplished quite a list;
fulfilled most every wish.
I have welcomed two beautiful boys
who are my life, my loves, my joys.
I have danced and sung on stages large and small,
but my newborn baby was my favorite audience of all.
I've climbed mountains and run through streams,
but I'm not done chasing my dreams, going on adventures and trying new things.
I can't wait to teach my sons what I've learned about life,
To share in their laughter and help them through times of strife.
Like you, I've faced some sorrows along my way
said goodbye to people I cherished on my darkest of days.
Held my husband's hand, stunned to learn he had cancer,
Sat sickened to know that chemo was the only answer.
But we've made it through and we will again,
I try to end each day with a "Thank you Lord. Amen."
I have a few wrinkles, my bodies seen more youthful days,
But all this shows that I have really lived and for me - that's ok.
Turning 40 is a gift, a gift some never live to receive
I will make the most of the next 40 years - that, my friends, you had better believe!

Stroll slowly down that gentle path,
Find shelter
Once so very far away
I never thought I’d see the day
When turning 40 was so near
And time is suddenly oh so dear

TURNING FORTY
Turning 40?
What do you mean?
Been there done that.
And in between
Turning forty ain't nothing
You're hardly half
by Sid de Knees
I look like my dad..
I tend to move quite slowly now,
and find aches when I do,
I find that stairs are murderous,
and toe nails
Feeling sad cause you're turning 40?
I'm twice that now and feel young and sporty.
I walk two miles most every day.
I do chores,
