Retirement is your chance to do something new with your life. You have an excellent opportunity to go back to school, and study an area of work, you want to go into now. I have a couple of friends who just signed up at a local community college for a new career, they had job burnout from the many years of work. Why not follow your current interests? Retirement is a great new opportunity. to begin something new, you want to do. I will offer you a few tips on how to prepare for you next career, at the best time: the start of your retirement. Your have earned it. Tip One: Why settle for a part time job at a store or bank, when you can go back and study for and exciting, relevant, new career field? One friend who spent 25 years teaching history at his local high school, he loved bringing history alive in the classroom, and many students went on to teach history, after taking his class, as well. Now he wants to study Business Administration, and someday start a business of his own, or he could teach business to others at the high school or college. Tip Two: Life in retirement can include fresh opportunities to become a lifelong student, studying anything you want from: homebased business ideas, learning how to write motivating articles or books, reviewing future careers on Helium.com, becoming a consultant of your specialty, to start your own mail order business, learn to sell on E-Bay, making crafts, photography, learning investing principles for retirement, and many, many other subjects. Tip Three: You are special, and worked hard to reach your retirement, now is the time to accept your reward, by doing the things you dreamed about during your working life. With many people living at least 30 years after retirement, this is plenty of time to make an important investment into education for you. Become the dean of your own university, direct your educational pursuits in the direction of your interests and desires. Go for it.
