What makes anyone think that the "sparring" between Clinton and Obama gives McCain even an iota of benefit? It seems to me that the two Democratic candidates are stirring up the interest and emotions of the people in this country at a time that is long over due.
McCain is running on the Republican ticket simply because the party had no one else. The Republicans have lost the support and respect of many US Citizens. It's no big secret that President Bush has dropped significantly in popularity during his term and, McCain is now referred to as "Bush Light." So, how the hell can the so-called sparring between Clinton and Obama help him in ANY way!
The Democrats are out in full force and from what I see and hear, they are embellishing the spirited talks between Hillary and Barrack. They have created an interest that is long over due. This nation is sick and tired of hearing about wars and bombs. As heated as it may be, the sparks that fly between Clinton and Obama have turned the heads of the voters in a new direction. A direction away from destruction and loss of life to the needs of the people here in America that have gone way too long ignored.
McCain may be thinking that he simply has to sit back on his haunches, let the two Democrats waste their time and money "sparring" and just slide into the Presidency. Well, that's a Republican attitude for you - "pipe dreams" along with the lack of any real interest in the true needs of the people of this country. Wake up McCain. The more bickering and sparring that goes on between Clinton and Obama the further away from the White House you get.
The taxpayers of this nation have been waiting a long time to hear something that they can connect with; that touches them and their families and, if it comes in the form of a sparring-match then so be it. But, it has come and that's all that matters. They indeed have taken the spotlight away from McCain.
In addition, the Democrats are also looking at the very strong possibility of making history - the first woman president or the first black president. So, let them spar, let them fight as hard as they can to make it happen. We need these kinds of fighters in the White
House. Fighters that can give this country back to the people.
Bottom line, the votes are out in droves - especially the Democrats. That in itself says it all. McCain is gaining no benefit from the stormy actions of Clinton/Obama. In fact, he should be afraid, very afraid. If he has a smart support staff and advisors, the best he can hope for is a well-written speech to deliver when he is defeated!
