*To Follow The Sea*
The warm crimson glow of the setting sun
graces the horizon and the day is done.
The song of the surf calms my fears;
it thieves them away to a sea of tears.
I can tell that soon, as the twilight fades,
I'll lament leaving and wish I had stayed.
For although as far as my eyes can see
the endless possibilities beckoning to me,
I abandon my dreams and increase my stride
upon changing direction like a turning tide.
My footprints in the sand lead me to where you wait;
to follow the sea it seems, for me, just is not my fate.
