Bloom Busters by U-Brothers is a very bright colorful children's game. You find out in the introduction that the mysterious Mr. Zorg who lives in the woods doesn't like little animals bothering him; therefore, he is working on a chemical compound that will freeze all living creatures so that he can live in peace and quiet. One night, he believes he has come up with a formula that he thinks will work. He goes out and pours it into the forest's only water source - a nearby stream. Soon strange things begin to happen to the forest creatures.
It is up to two gardeners, Jimmy and Jessie, who it is made very clear are deeply in love with each other, to set the forest to rights.
• Gameplay:
Bloom Busters is played simply by clicking a mouse button. You use it to click where you want to move your character, either Jimmy or Jessie, around their garden. You can double click the mushroom curser on a place and they will run to that location enabling you to collect jewels and other things before they disappear. The mushroom becomes a flyswatter when you are able to hit things such as strange animals who would destroy things.
• Graphics:
The game has a lot of little details put in it right down to little shiny spots on apples. The colors are bright and crisp and the characters are very cartoonish.
• Sound:
An upbeat music plays, and you can hear a lot of little animal sounds such as birds chirping in the nearby forest.
• Creativity:
The story line and characters are pretty creative even though they aren't very original. The idea of saving forest animals isn't new but the game turned out pretty cute.
• Innovation:
This game offers something new for kids to entertain themselves with.
I can't see someone over the age of eight or nine enjoying this game very much, and a younger child would need an adult there to read the instructions and story to them.
I would rate this game a three out of five. It has nice bright colors that would attract a younger crowd and entertain them. If my child were to show interest in the demo version of the game, I would probably buy the full version for them.
