Who ate the Stuffing?
Sitting in my room staring into the mirror, I could hear all the voices coming from downstairs. I love thanksgiving, the food, the family, the stuffed bellied uncles plopped on the couch at the end of the night. Besides all these things I must say that there is one particular thing I love most about Thanksgiving, not the turkey, not the candied covered yams, but the stuffing! Oh boy, do I love stuffing. If I could, I would eat stuffing everyday! This year, Aunt Pam was supposed to bring it along with the turkey. I couldn't wait, and just as soon as her thought popped into my head, I heard the door open with greetings and Aunt Pam's voice echoing through our hall entrance.
With a dash of velocity I was off my chair and leaping down the stairs. Just as I reached the bottom almost crashing into Aunt Pam and her lovely tin foil covered dish, I noticed the beautiful smell of my beloved stuffing.
"Did you bring it? Did you bring it?" I shouted in excitement.
"Yes Mary, I brought it but you will have to wait till dinner to eat it." She said already knowing what I was asking for.
After sitting in a room full of talkative family members for what seemed like hours, I could have screamed when I heard my mom yell, "Time to eat!"
Was I about to get my wonderful stuffing? Oh I just couldn't wait, the suspense was making my stomach turn and sing songs so deep it sounded like the old men Grandma loves to listen to in the car.
Just as my head was poked over the counter in the line for food, I watched my mother pull all the tin foil off the tops of the dishes as if she were unveiling a prize in each one. As she reached the last dish I thought in my head, "This is it, it has to be!"
As the tin foil came off the bright pink stood out telling me something definitely was not right.
"Cranberry Sauce? Where is the stuffing?" I yelled in a disastrous tone.
This was not right, no stuffing at a thanksgiving dinner? How could this be? I know Aunt Pam said she brought it.
Just as I heard everyone mumbling about how they had no idea where the stuffing was I noticed one thing. Where was Aunt Pam? She was there before Mom said it was time to eat.
"Has anyone seen Aunt Pam? She said she brought it." I asked so everyone could hear me.
"No, I haven't, but her turkey is here." My uncle Roger who ate all the stuffing last year so I was not able to have seconds said.
"Hmmmm." I thought. I had to find out where the stuffing was or I was not going to be able to eat one bite of anything
