Finding Fireworks
Long-view Circle is your typical suburban cul-de-sac; and it's experiencing yet another mystery. Twin girls, McKayla and Regan are pacing in their bedroom, determined to solve their biggest mystery yet. They've solved smaller mysteries, like the case of the missing car keys, but this was huge. Every year on the 4th of July, the residents of Long-view Circle throw a spectacular party. Mrs. Collins collects money months in advance for fireworks, food, and entertainment. In the night, a gigantic box of fireworks was taken, right from the Collins's garage.
Kendal Collins readied her pen to take notes from the pacing sisters. "Mr. Green." Regan started the list.
McKayla smiled, "Brilliant. He is the one neighbor that never chips in for fireworks, and throws a fit every year! It has to be him." Kendal took notes. "Who else?" Regan continued pacing.
"No clue," muttered McKayla.
Regan led out, "let's talk to him." So, they left for Mr. Green's house. It was the only home in the cul-de-sac constructed from 100% recyclable materials. They knocked on the door made from recycled milk cartons.
"Hello?" He was tall, and intimidating. McKayla got right to the point.
"We are investigating the missing box of fireworks." She wanted to add, and we think you did it.
"Ah, well, it wasn't me." He answered smoothly.
"Where were you between the hours of ten and eleven last night?" Kendal grilled him.
He tapped his chin, "I was watching the news, but, now that you mention it, I did hear something." The girls' ears perked up, "The MacNeal's dog barking like a maniac. Maybe when you find out who Pippin was barking at, you can solve your mystery. Bye now." He smirked and shut the door. Kendal wrote down the clue of the barking poodle.
Their friend J.R. ran out to greet them. "Are you guys solving the mystery? Have you found out anything yet?" He placed his hands onto his knees, panting softly.
"Nah, except that Mr. Green isn't nice." Regan told him.
"I could've told you that." J.R. laughed, showing off his bright white teeth against his olive complexion.
"Look, it's Ryan MacNeal, let's talk to him."They followed after McKayla to investigate the barking dog. Ryan looked up as they came towards him.
"Hey, Ry, can we ask you about Pippin?"
"Yeah." Ryan seemed intrigued."Why?"
"Is it true that he was going crazy last night?" Regan asked.
"Yeah, it was really weird. Pippin woke my Dad up. He came running out here to grab Pip, and bring him in. I guess Pippin woke up a few
