Got a birthday coming up
It's the big 4 O
I'm excited and scared,
But I don't know
what to expect.
You know I plan to celebrate
And go all out,
Because they say 40 is the new 20.
Whether or not that is true, I will soon know what it's all about.
I'll be forty soon!
When I think about it,
It blows my mind
Even more than it did when I turned 29.
Should this be a time of reflection?
Looking over past hurts and pains,
Joy and sorrow,
Sunshine and rain?
What I want it to be
Is a new beginning
Starting my life over
This time with a happy ending.
So don't hate me because I'm beautiful
And still got it going on,
Or because it took me 40 years to learn
The darkest hour is just before the dawn.

And time is suddenly oh so dear

You're hardly half
by Sid de Knees
I look like my dad..
I tend to move quite slowly now,
and find aches when I do,
I find that stairs are murderous,
and toe nails
Feeling sad cause you're turning 40?
I'm twice that now and feel young and sporty.
I walk two miles most every day.
I do chores,
