You wonder why I left you
why there was no more love that I could give
you drained me of all my energy
almost no life left to live
My heart was once so open
offering all there was of me
taking what was offered
consuming it greedily
At the bottom of the barrel
no more love, just emptiness
would it have been so hard for you
to show a little tenderness
Now we're over and I'm gone
leaving you with sorrow and regret
maybe next time you'll remember
to give and not just get
