I love to go dancing. When I go on vacation I always try to get my husband to take me out to a dance club. I have been to Phoenix, Arizona once and there was a club we went to that was a lot of fun. I think the place was called Axis/Radius and it has two clubs in one. I really enjoyed it. Great music and a great crowd. We had to be dressed up so we had to go back to our hotel since my husband wasn't dressed nice enough. That was embarrassing. We went back and enjoyed ourselves. It is kind of expensive though. There is also a lot of people there in the club and can sometimes be wall to wall people. I had fun but could have dealt with less people since I don't care for tight areas.
I always wanted to learn how to swing dance. There is a swing dance club in Phoenix and there are lessons that are given every Sunday. It gives that connection to the west coast swing. At the University of Arizona they also offer swing dance lessons. There are several places that specialize in dance lessons. Johnson Betty School of Dance is located off Beardsley Rd. You can take lessons in jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop among other styles.
If you have children then I am sure at some point they would like to learn to dance. The girls would like to be cheerleaders. A place in Phoenix for that is K & K Elite Cheer and Dance Gym off Melinda Ln. It also gives kids the chance to learn gymnastics.
Myst is a dance club for adults. The crowd is typically between 20's to 30's. Not too many people in their 40's or older. There is a DJ and the music ranges from all types of genres. It is a trendy club so you have to dress super nice. Beer and Martini's are the most popular drinks at this club. And there is a great big dance floor.
Since I haven't been to Phoenix much I don't know of too many dance clubs to go to or to suggest to go to. The Myst and Axis/Radius are probably the best ones to go to in the Phoenix area. I would definitely make the time to visit other dance places when I visit again. I will also visit the Axis again but it has to be on a less busier night.
